Christine’s Notes:

Christine Feehan

I always loved Malichai. The way he was raised on the streets and how that affected him made him interesting to me. I especially love how he is with Nonny. I knew this book would have a lot to do with interpersonal relationships. I wanted to show how strong and courageous Malichai is both as a soldier and as a man.

Nonny is a special character in this series. I wanted to show how she affected the people around her. Nonny was “home”. She was the example of what a woman should be, which the Fortunes brothers needed since they didn’t grow up with that.

I also wanted to show the closeness and affection between the Fortunes brothers. Ezekiel was more than a brother. He was the father figure. This book gave me an opportunity to explore those relationships more in a meaningful way.

Knowing Malichai has this desire to be close and have family makes meeting Amaryllis even more special. Sometimes the right person comes into our life at the right time and nothing, no matter how bad it gets, can take it from you if you’re willing to fight for it. Malichai and Amaryllis would certainly be tested, but first I wanted them to discover and enjoy each other.

When things go wrong, they go wrong in a big way. I wanted to show that those relationships we invest in, we put our time, energy and heart into, can pay off in ways you might never imagine.

About this book

The sparks of unexpected passion ignite in this electrifying GhostWalker novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan.

When Malichai Fortunes attacks a problem, he does it full force--a habit that earns the GhostWalker a painful injury and a forced vacation in San Diego, California. With nothing but physical therapy on the horizon, Malichai is starting to get restless...until a striking blue-eyed blonde makes all his senses come alive.
Amaryllis is kind and warm and sees beyond Malichai's rough exterior, but he can tell there's something she's hiding. Her innate healing abilities indicate she might be a GhostWalker--albeit an untrained one. Malichai doesn't think their paths crossing is anything more than coincidence, but he can sense that one wrong word could send Amaryllis running.

When strange events at his temporary retreat put Malichai on high alert, he knows he won't be able to deal with the threat and keep his woman safe in his weakened state. But calling in his brothers means telling Amaryllis what he really is, and revealing that he knows the truth about her too....

About Christine Feehan

I live on the beautiful Northern California coast and draw much inspiration from the beauty around me. I’ve always been a writer, for as long as I remember. My sisters were forced to read all of my books from the time I could write a story on paper.

I love family. I love my brothers and sisters, my children, my grandchildren and my great grandchildren. My home was always full of kids and children give me so much joy.

I also love my “sisters of the heart”, those friends who have supported me through my life, laughed with me, cried with me and loved me regardless of how crazy my life got. I am a strong supporter of women helping each other which is why I became a third degree black belt and taught self-defense to women who’d been abused.

I love people and dogs, good books and great coffee and I’m lucky to know just how blessed I am.
