Leopard’s Rage by Christine Feehan (Excerpt)

  • The Leopard series is not usually my favourite series as the heroes often come very close to alpha-holes and the heroines tend to be very gracious and forgiving, usually taking the lead in the emotional journey.

This was a book I wanted to turn everything on its head. On the surface it seems more sexual because Sevastyan is a sexual being, something that’s long been established. But, there is so much more going on. A big mystery he needs to figure out in order to keep Flambe. He’s a man who has no real idea of relationships, having to solve something nearly impossible to understand. He tries so hard and I really love him for that.

This is the first time I’ve ever written a Leopard book in which both the hero and heroine are on their first lifecycle. It complicates things in surprising ways.

I did so much research for this book and hope people feel immersed in the world. I will admit, I did take some liberties with Strawberry Leopards, but I think I may be forgiven.

  Leopard’s Rage

It will take more than desire to tame the animal within in this Leopard novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan.
Leopard shifter Sevastyan Amurov has an anger inside of him that burns so hot it’s almost impossible to control. His barely leashed rage relentlessly threatens to break free, until he meets a woman who soothes his restless soul.
Sevastyan wants Flambe Carver with every breath. He’s determined that the fiery-haired woman will want to be his completely. But his would-be mate comes with strings attached— a relentless stalker who intends to claim her for his own.
They barely know each other, but with a very real threat looming just out of reach, Sevastyan takes Flambe under his protection. And as their connection grows, the embers of desire sparking between them soon burst into an inferno that will consume them both.

REVIEW

The Leopard People series is my favorite after Dark Guardian series 🙂 The characters are fun and the bed scens are smocking hot. Leopard’s Rage was a fun but strugling read. Feehan had Sevastyan dominace to the max. Excelent writing. I really enjoyed Sevastyan and Flambe journey. Although Flambe and Flamme (her leopard) are names I was struggling with while reading this book. It felt more balanced as Flambe was struggling with her emotions and vulnerability as much as Sevastyan.

It was fun to follow along and see both of them give and take. The romance was hot. A lot of bondage and rope play. I can’t even remember there was a normal bed scene without the rope bondage. It was a little of a overkill. So much I even skipped women of the last bed scene because I already had read 5 times how he was dominating her with his ropes. I found my heart became incredibly lost within the pages of this book. I couldn’t get over how stunning and extraordinary both the story and the characters are.

The character of flambe had a nice build-up although I don’t know why she could never tell the male character why she is untrusting of male leopards. After she told him. The first thought I had was. ‘That’s it?’ Why didn’t she just tell him? It wasn’t that she experienced most herself it was al about others and only then she found out about it later when she was older. It was somewhat strange for me. I missed a prologue. I loved to read more when they progressed further in their relation. It had at the end not really a stable feeling where I thought. Wow they are going to be together forever.

Still. Overall a real page turner. It kept me up till late just to finish it.

Loved It!

About Christine Feehan

I live on the beautiful Northern California coast and draw much inspiration from the beauty around me. I’ve always been a writer, for as long as I remember. My sisters were forced to read all of my books from the time I could write a story on paper.

I love family. I love my brothers and sisters, my children, my grandchildren and my great grandchildren. My home was always full of kids and children give me so much joy.

I also love my “sisters of the heart”, those friends who have supported me through my life, laughed with me, cried with me and loved me regardless of how crazy my life got. I am a strong supporter of women helping each other which is why I became a third degree black belt and taught self-defense to women who’d been abused.

I love people and dogs, good books and great coffee and I’m lucky to know just how blessed I am.
